A car presumably driving east on Highway 14 was making a right hand turn onto the county road and obviously went out of control and crashed into the west side of my old country store!
No, not a disaster, but certainly a nuisance I didn't want to have to deal with right now.

The cardboard boxes and apple crates were all empty, I'm pleased to report. One range of shelves was destroyed. One section was just knocked away from the wall and is probably salvageable. My trusty repairman has already been out to advise on damage, and it looks like we'll have to replace about half the 2 x 4 uprights along that wall and put new siding on the whole west exterior. It should be possible to salvage the inside wall planks and then nail them to the new uprights for the interior wall.
Was the car still there? No.
Did the driver leave any information as to how he or she might be reached? No.
At present it appears that I will be better off funding the repair myself instead of getting the insurance company involved because of the high deductible.
Not how I hoped to spend the rest of my Saturday!
